I specialize in contemporary aquatic fine art inspired by the beauty, movement, and anatomy of aquatic life. My work blends digital illustration, traditional hand-finishing techniques, watercolor, and archival colored pencil methods to create immersive hybrid artworks.
-
Every piece begins through an original creative process developed by me. Depending on the collection, works may begin as digital sketches, compositional studies, and hybrid illustrations developed from a photograph, before being individually refined and hand-finished using professional fine art materials.

Yes. Like many modern artists, I will use artificial intelligence as one of several creative tools during the concept and design phase of my artwork. AI is never the finished product. It serves as a starting base point that I develop, refine, and transform through my own artistic vision and traditional techniques.
My creative process often begins with a reference photograph, many of which I have personally photographed. When I use a photograph created by another photographer, I do so only with permission or from appropriately licensed sources.
From there, I make countless creative decisions involving composition, anatomy, perspective, lighting, color, texture, and artistic interpretation. Each piece is then individually completed by hand using professional-grade watercolor and Faber-Castell Polychromos colored pencils. The final artwork represents many hours of traditional craftsmanship and artistic expression.

Copyright & Human Authorship
Under current United States copyright law, copyright protection applies to original works of human authorship. In 2026, the U.S. Supreme Court declined to review a lower court decision confirming that works created entirely by artificial intelligence, without human creative authorship, are not eligible for copyright protection.
That decision did not prohibit artists from using AI as a creative tool. Instead, it reaffirmed that copyright protects the original expressive contributions made by human creators.
My artwork is created through a hybrid artistic process in which AI may assist during the conceptual stage, while the creative expression, artistic judgment, refinements, and traditional hand-rendered execution are my own. As such, each finished artwork reflects my personal authorship and craftsmanship.
